Produce high-quality products and services for our customers. As a machinist, you will assemble and inspect products to ensure the highest quality is delivered. You are responsible for maintaining your work area, ensuring its safe and efficient operation. Setting up and monitoring the production of products in your designated area is crucial. Furthermore, participating in continuous improvement processes at the site is vital to address safety, production, and quality enhancements. Produce high quality products and services for our customers. You will fabricate and inspect product to ensure the highest quality product is provided to our customers. You will be responsible for your work area to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the area. You will set up and monitor the production of product in your area and participate in the continuous improvement process at the site to address safety, production, and quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Precision Machines (Tool Grinding/Tool Cutting) and perform basic Equipment Maintenance
  • Utilize Conventional Machining Machines to grind, shape & form Cutting Tools & Cutting Inserts
  • Check & Inspect all Tooling, Gauges & Cutting Tools are correct, damaged and wear & tear before commencing Tool rectification or modifications
  • Read & Interpret Engineering Drawings or Sketches to modify Cutting Tools & Cutting Inserts using various Machining techniques
  • Control, ensure and Inspect all Cutting Tools/Inserts meet required tolerances and Quality standards
  • Co-ordinate & liaise with Production Team (Machinist & Engineering) to understand the Tooling needs & contribute Design improvements
  • Provide valuable insights & suggestions to enhance Cutting Tool capabilities to prolong Tool Life
  • Required to operate a combination of the following Equipment / Machines (Drill Grinding, Tap Grinding, Endmill Grinding, Cutting Inserts Grinding, etc.)
  • Initiate & implement Continuous Improvement activities (Kaizen) to improve Productivity & Quality

MUST HAVE:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, NITEC/NTC in Precision Engineering
  • At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in Tool Room environment
  • Experience in performing inspection of Cutting Tools & Inserts
  • Knowledge in using Profile Projector will be an added advantage
  • Must be familiar with the usage of Hand Tools & Quality Measuring Instruments/Equipment
  • Solid knowledge of reading & interpretation of Engineering Drawings (GD&T)
  • Proficient and ability to Set up & operate conventional precision machinery and Tools / Grinders
  • Understanding of 5S and TPM concepts
  • Some experience with understanding of Six Sigma and Lean tools will be an added advantage
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Diligent, hardworking, and able to work independently & collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and have good attention to detail
  • Requires some basic Computer knowledge & skills
  • Basic knowledge in SAP will be an added advantage
